Thay have been avid four-wheelers for many years, and they have owned a number of four-wheel drive vehicles (from CJ-5s to Broncos of various sizes to 4Runners to Grand Cherokees).  Over the course of those years they have adopted a philosophy that you can have great off-road performance and a good-looking rig at the same time.

Soon after acquiring there 2005 Grand Cherokee they removed the very quickly damaged front air dam and added a front skid plate, that is something they had done to several previous vehicles.  They liked this addition as it was functional, added to the off-road image of the vehicle, and (frankly) made the rig look more unique.  It turned out that due to a number of unforeseen circumstances the vehicle got some national exposure and we began getting a number of inquires about a source for this skid plate.  Initially, they tried to ignore the requests, but they eventually succumbed to an interest in making this "product" the foundation of a business venture.  Thus 4xGuard was born.

They are proud of there products, each of which has been designed based on there long-term experiences four-wheeling and has survived the rigors of there ventures into the backroads of Utah and Colorado (there favorite part of the business!).

Russ & Anita retired as of September 1, 2011, We wish them all the best in there golden years of life.
